The Downtown Management Corporation of Fort Myers, Florida was incorporated on November 28, 1994. It was formed by a group of downtown property owners, business owners and residents whose purpose was to assist in the revitalization of the historic downtown district, by promoting events and the redevelopment of downtown while supporting efforts to restore historic sites. We became a 501(c)3 in 2000, and in 2007 we added a DBA: River District Alliance. Once the streetscape project was complete in 2009, we once again began producing events with an all volunteer staff.
The mission of the RDA is to promote and enhance the continued development of the historic Fort Myers River District as a hub of economic, social and cultural activity.
The primary goal of the RDA is to enliven the economic and social qualities within downtown Fort Myers and the surrounding area known as the River District.
