Arts for ACT Gallery Exhibit: Of Myth or Lore

Join Arts for ACT Gallery, located at 2265 First Street in downtown Fort Myers on Friday, July 6, 2018 from 6 to 10 pm for the opening reception of its annual open themed group exhibit “Of Myth or Lore”.  This month, ACT Gallery will feature a wide array of group artists that entered our themed open art exhibit.  Artists were given one creative theme “Of Myth or Lore” to create paintings, sculpture and more from!

This year’s Theme is “Of Myth or Lore”

Myth (noun \ˈmith\)  A traditional story, especially one concerning the early history of a people or explaining a natural or social phenomenon, and typically involving supernatural beings or events.

Lore (noun \lôr\) A body of traditions and knowledge on a subject or held by a particular group, typically passed from person to person by word of mouth.

“Of Myth Or Lore” explores the stories humanity has created and passed on to explain the world around us. We all have a favorite myth or lore!

You can expect to see an array of eclectic, surreal, whimsical and realistic paintings, sculptures, watercolors, collage, oils, and photography for this month’s themed exhibit. Entries proved to be very thought provoking and imaginative.  The art ranged from professional to emerging, self-trained and “outsider” to highly skilled; there is truly something for everyone!

Come view these creative artworks from over 75 artists for this annual group exhibit and support ACT Gallery.

This exhibit continues through Monday, July 30, 2018.
