The Palm Readers – Friends of the Fort Myers Library present The British Museum: Treasures of the Empire.

You loved her tour of the Hermitage. Now Carol Jonson’s back with a trip to England’s most famous museum. The British Museum holds an astonishing eight million works in its collection. Even though only 80,000 are on display, they take the visitor around the globe and millennia back in time. This program will concentrate on museum highlights from Ancient Egypt – including the Rosetta Stone, the Ancient Near East, Ancient Greece – including the controversial and beautiful Elgin Marbles and early British history.
